**Current forecasts from the National Weather Service and regional models indicate a high near 69–70°F for San Francisco on September 6, aligning with the market’s strong preference for the 68–71°F bins.** Typical late-summer marine-layer influence and onshore westerly flow moderate daytime heating along the coast, keeping maxima close to the 1991–2020 climatological average of 70.2°F. Recent days have shown similar readings—69–71°F—with no heat-wave signals or anomalous ridging in short-range guidance. Model consensus remains tight, with only modest afternoon clearing expected rather than strong warming. These stable conditions, combined with the narrow historical range for early September, explain why traders have concentrated probability on the narrow band around the seasonal norm while assigning minimal weight to outliers above 73°F or below 66°F.
