Recent National Weather Service guidance and ensemble model runs point to a high near 68°F for San Francisco on September 5, driven by persistent onshore westerly flow and a moderate marine layer that limits afternoon warming. This aligns with the climatological average of 70.1°F while reflecting slightly cooler-than-recent conditions after highs of 71–73°F earlier in the week. Key variables include the strength of the sea breeze, boundary-layer moisture, and any thinning of low clouds by midday, with limited model spread supporting the market’s concentration on the 68–71°F bins. Updated short-range forecasts tomorrow morning will provide the final observational anchor before resolution.
