Heavy rainfall and persistent cloud cover from a frontal system are expected to suppress maximum temperatures in Tokyo on September 21, with official forecasts indicating a high near 25–26°C amid northeasterly winds and near-100% precipitation chances. These conditions limit solar insolation and evaporative cooling effects, keeping the daily peak well below seasonal norms. Market-implied odds favor 26°C or 25°C as traders weigh model consensus from agencies like the Japan Meteorological Agency against potential timing shifts in heaviest rain bands that could allow brief warming to 27°C or hold the maximum at 24°C. Recent days of similar unsettled weather have reinforced this range, with low odds on extremes reflecting historical September patterns under comparable synoptic setups.
