**Current forecasts from multiple sources, including NWS products and extended outlooks, point to overnight lows in the upper 60s to low 70s°F for September 9, 2026, in New York City, aligning closely with the market's leading implied probabilities for the 68-69°F (39%) and 70-71°F (24%) bins.** A warm air mass with southerly to southwesterly flow is expected to maintain elevated minimum temperatures, supported by partly cloudy to overcast conditions that limit radiational cooling overnight. Recent observations from Central Park show September 2026 lows running several degrees above the long-term September average of ~62°F, with September 6–8 minima in the mid-to-upper 60s amid similar synoptic patterns. Model consensus favors this mild regime persisting through midweek without a strong cold front or clear-sky radiative setup that could drop readings into the mid-60s or below. Key variables for final resolution include the exact timing of any wind shift or increased cloud cover, which could trim or boost the low by a degree or two. With the event only ~48 hours away, fresh NWS forecast updates and mesonet observations will provide the primary signals for any late shifts in trader positioning. Historical analogs for early September under comparable warm advection show similar overnight ranges, reinforcing the current market-implied odds.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=klga
This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button.
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F.
This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
