Incumbent Ken Sim of ABC Vancouver holds a narrow lead in trader consensus for the October 17, 2026, Vancouver mayoral election, reflecting his established organizational base and record on issues such as housing affordability and public safety. The most recent catalyst is the September 8 withdrawal of OneCity candidate William Azaroff, who endorsed Green Party Councillor Pete Fry and helped consolidate support from COPE and other progressive parties behind a single challenger. Earlier summer polling showed a fragmented field with high undecided shares and mixed results between Sim and Fry, while centrist options like Vancouver Liberals candidate Kareem Allam continue to draw smaller shares that could influence vote splits. Traders appear to weigh Sim’s incumbency edge and party infrastructure more heavily than the recent opposition unification ahead of the vote.
