Florida's 22nd congressional district, redrawn in 2026 through legislative action under Gov. Ron DeSantis, carries an R+4 partisan voting index and is rated Lean Republican by Cook Political Report, Sabato's Crystal Ball, and Inside Elections. The seat opened after former Democratic incumbent Lois Frankel shifted districts. Casey Askar secured the Republican nomination on August 18 in a crowded primary, while Pia Dandiya won the Democratic primary. A recent head-to-head poll showed the nominees tied, yet the district's structural Republican lean and lack of an incumbent give the GOP nominee the edge in trader assessments ahead of the November 3 general election.
