Guinea-Bissau's December 2026 legislative election for the 102-seat National People's Assembly remains closely contested under party-list proportional representation, which favors smaller parties and coalitions and makes outright majorities rare in the country's fragmented political environment. Trader consensus places the Republican Platform “Nô Kumpu Guiné” slightly ahead of the Patriotic Front for National Salvation (FREPASNA) amid ongoing transition from the 2025 coup and annulled vote, with the August 30 constitutional referendum and transitional institutions shaping campaign dynamics. Lower-polling parties such as the Workers' Party, FLING, Party for Solution, and MUNDO-GB add to the dispersion of support. No single recent event has produced clear separation among frontrunners, leaving outcomes sensitive to turnout, alliance formation, and any late campaign developments before election day.
