**Forecast consensus from National Weather Service and multiple models points to a high near 93–95°F on September 2, driven by increasing moisture from an approaching Gulf tropical system.** This raises afternoon thunderstorm chances to around 40%, with east-southeast winds of 5–10 mph and building cloud cover that can limit peak heating relative to the hotter, sunnier conditions on September 1. The historical average high for the date is 93.4°F, providing climatological context, while heat indices near 100°F reflect elevated humidity. Model runs show minor spread in timing of any showers or storms, which could trim the maximum if convection develops earlier or allow brief clearing to push readings slightly higher. Market-implied odds favoring 96–97°F over the 94–95°F band reflect trader weighting of upside uncertainty in the final hours before resolution, amid typical short-term forecast variability in late-summer convective environments.
