Recent National Weather Service guidance and ensemble model consensus point to a high near 78–79°F for Los Angeles on September 18 under clear skies and light southwest flow, with the marine layer expected to limit coastal warming. This aligns closely with the market’s heavy weighting toward 76–77°F and 74–75°F outcomes, reflecting typical late-September climatology (historical average high ~76°F) and the moderating influence of onshore flow that often caps peaks at or below official forecast values at key stations. Minimal day-to-day changes in guidance and absence of heat-advisory conditions have kept trader probabilities stable, with only modest allocation to the 78–79°F bin reflecting residual model spread in maximum temperature timing.
