Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance for coastal Los Angeles on September 17 points to a daytime high in the mid- to upper 70s under onshore flow and lingering marine layer influence, driving the tight trader consensus between the 74–75°F and 76–77°F outcomes. Afternoon clearing timing, wind speeds near 10–15 mph from the southwest, and boundary-layer moisture levels will determine whether temperatures peak closer to 74°F or reach 77°F, with historical September averages near 76°F at Los Angeles International Airport providing context. Updated model runs and official observations the morning of the 17th remain the key near-term catalysts that could shift implied probabilities within this narrow range.
