Marine layer persistence and moderate southwest winds are anchoring trader expectations for San Francisco’s September 2 high near or slightly above the 69.6°F climatological average. Official guidance and ensemble models indicate morning marine stratus giving way to partial afternoon clearing, with peak readings most likely in the upper 60s to low 70s under onshore flow that limits inland heating. Recent model runs show no significant warming trend or offshore flow event to push values into the mid-70s or higher, keeping the 72–73°F and 70–71°F bins as the clearest resolution candidates. Low precipitation chances further support stable, season-typical conditions rather than anomalous heat.
