Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance for September 19 points to an overnight low near 58–59 °F in San Francisco, driven by persistent onshore flow from the Pacific and a strengthening marine layer that moderates temperatures despite seasonal warmth. Light westerly winds and partial cloud cover overnight are expected to limit radiative cooling, keeping readings above the 55.8 °F climatological average while making 62 °F or higher less likely without a clear-air setup. Recent observations from San Francisco International Airport show similar upper-50s lows amid mild conditions, with no major synoptic shift forecast before resolution. Traders weigh these factors against typical September variability, where marine influence often caps extremes.
