Costco’s CEO Ron Vachris delivered the decisive signal in a March 2026 taste-test video, declaring the $1.50 hot dog combo price “will not change as long as I’m around,” echoing decades of executive pledges that have turned the item into a retail icon and loss-leader ritual. The April 2026 rollout of a Kirkland bottled-water option—the first menu adjustment in forty years—left the sticker price untouched, reinforcing operational discipline amid inflation. With leadership stable and only months until year-end 2026, traders see little room for an upset unless an unforeseen shock such as a sudden CEO exit or extreme protein-cost spike materializes. The 91% implied probability for “No” reflects this entrenched brand promise and the absence of any countervailing signals.

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the price of a standard Costco hot dog and 20 oz soda combo before tax exceeds $1.50 in any Costco store in the United States by December 31, 2026, 11:59PM ET. Otherwise this market will resolve to "No".
If Costco announces they will increase the price, this market will resolve to "Yes" regardless of whether that change is actually implemented.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from Costco, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
