Following the Faroe Islands parliamentary election on April 29, 2024, trader consensus heavily favors Beinir Johannesen of the Union Party as next Løgmaður, reflecting his party's plurality with nine seats amid fragmented results. Incumbent Aksel V. Johannesen's Social Democrats secured seven seats, sustaining his secondary position, while Jenis av Rana's People's Party also gained seven, bolstering its contender status. Lower odds for Ruth Vang (Centre), Bárður á Steig Nielsen (Progress), and Høgni Hoydal (Republic) track their smaller blocs. Ongoing coalition talks, with Union eyeing alliances with People's and Centre parties, drive probabilities, as no majority emerged and negotiations could pivot toward a centre-right government. Upcoming talks this week may shift sentiment.
