James Talarico holds a leading position in trader assessments for the Tarrant County portion of the Texas U.S. Senate race, reflecting the Democratic nominee's strength in suburban areas amid a closely contested statewide contest against Republican Ken Paxton. Recent University of Texas and New York Times/Siena polling shows the general election essentially tied or within a few points, with Talarico drawing strong support from Hispanic voters and independents after defeating other Democratic primary contenders. Paxton's primary victory over incumbent John Cornyn, backed by President Trump, consolidated Republican support but has not translated into a clear edge in key counties. Talarico's record fundraising and scheduled debates add visibility, while minor candidates and write-ins remain long shots. Election day is November 3, 2026.
