Argentina’s ongoing disinflation under fiscal austerity and monetary tightening continues to anchor trader positioning ahead of the June 11 release of May monthly CPI. April’s 2.6% month-on-month print, down from 3.4% in March yet slightly above consensus, has kept the 2.2–2.4% band the narrow favorite at 50.5% implied probability while the ≤2.1% outcome holds 41.0%, reflecting closely matched expectations for further moderation. Persistent relative-price adjustments and the central bank’s exchange-rate policy add uncertainty around the exact pace, with the tight contest underscoring how a single tenth-of-a-percent deviation could shift resolution between the two leading ranges.
