Recent National Weather Service and private model consensus points to a highest temperature in Dallas on September 16 in the upper 90s to low 100s, driven by persistent southerly flow advecting warm, humid air under clear skies and surface high pressure. Afternoon highs near 98–100°F align with the market’s leading 98–99°F outcome, well above the 89.5°F climatological average for the date. Light south-to-southeast winds and negligible cloud cover or precipitation support limited diurnal mixing and strong daytime heating, though minor forecast adjustments in boundary-layer moisture or timing of peak insolation could shift the exact maximum by a degree or two. Updated NWS guidance and next model runs will refine these probabilities ahead of resolution.
