In Santa Catarina's open Senate race for two seats, trader sentiment on second place remains tightly balanced because a fragmented field of more than a dozen confirmed candidates from PL, PP, PT, PSOL, MDB and smaller parties produces overlapping support bases and no clear consolidation yet. Recent July polling showed the PL slate of Caroline de Toni and Carlos Bolsonaro leading overall, yet with Esperidião Amin, Décio Lima and several others clustered within a few points behind, while internal PL tensions and the arrival of the younger Bolsonaro have split bolsonarista voters without locking in a decisive order. Voter volatility ahead of the October ballot, combined with ongoing coalition negotiations and limited name recognition for many challengers, sustains the near-even implied probabilities across contenders.
