Latest National Weather Service forecasts position a high near 95°F for Houston on September 21 under mostly sunny conditions with only a 20% chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms. This aligns with the market's strong preference for 94-95°F, driven by a stable warm air mass and light southeast winds that limit cooling or intensification. Recent days have featured highs in the mid-90s amid typical late-September humidity, with heat indices reaching 101-102°F but actual air temperatures holding steady. Model consensus shows minimal day-to-day variability, though minor steering pattern shifts or cloud cover could nudge readings into the 92-93°F or 96-97°F bins. Final observations from official stations will resolve the market after sunset.
