Official forecasts from the National Weather Service and major models project Austin overnight lows in the mid- to upper 70s on September 9, 2026, supporting the closely bunched market leaders at 74–77°F. Persistent southerly flow, elevated dew points near 70°F, and clear skies under high pressure are limiting radiational cooling, while heat indices above 100°F during the day sustain the warm air mass. This represents a significant departure from the 1991–2020 climatological average low near 70°F. Minor differences among model runs create the narrow spread across leading bins, with traders weighing exact station measurement criteria and any last-minute adjustments to steering patterns or boundary-layer mixing.
