With snap parliamentary elections looming on April 19—Bulgaria's eighth since 2021 following the Zhelyazkov government's December 2025 resignation amid budget protests and corruption allegations—latest polls reflect Progressive Bulgaria (PB), led by former President Rumen Radev, surging to 30-33% support after its March launch on an anti-corruption platform. GERB-SDS trails at 19-23%, alongside PP-DB (11-13%), DPS (10-11%), and Vazrazhdane (6-8%), all comfortably above the 4% proportional representation threshold for the 240-seat National Assembly. BSP-OL hovers near 4%, while MECh and Velichie lag below; intensified vote-buying crackdowns, including April arrests and over €1 million seized, heighten scrutiny ahead of expected high turnout. Coalition negotiations will follow, amid ongoing instability.
