Utah’s 1st congressional district underwent court-ordered redistricting that consolidated most of Salt Lake County, including Salt Lake City and surrounding areas, into a compact new map. The revised boundaries shifted the district approximately 40% leftward relative to 2024 presidential results, with Kamala Harris carrying the area by a 24-point margin. Incumbent Republican Blake Moore opted to run in the neighboring 2nd district, leaving an open seat. Republican nominee Riley Owen secured the nomination at the state convention, while four Democrats—Ben McAdams, Nate Blouin, Michael Farrell, and Liban Mohamed—remain in a June 23 primary. Traders have priced the general election as a strong Democratic hold based on the district’s transformed partisan composition and the absence of an entrenched Republican incumbent.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
