Eurozone HICP inflation forecasts for 2026 have been revised higher amid persistent energy price pressures, with the ECB's June 2026 staff projections now centering on a 3.0% annual average—up 0.4 percentage points from March—driven by a surge in energy components that is expected to peak near 3.4% in late 2026. July 2026 data printed at 2.9% year-over-year, with energy inflation at 10.3%, and Bloomberg surveys point to August accelerating toward 3.0–3.3% as Middle East tensions sustain volatility. Market-implied odds favoring outcomes above 3.1% reflect these upward revisions, elevated core readings near 2.5%, and the ECB's data-dependent stance, while professional forecasters' 2.7% consensus highlights uncertainty around second-round effects and potential policy responses ahead of the September inflation release.
