Recent National Weather Service and model guidance points to scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms on September 16, driven by persistent northeast flow and elevated moisture, which will increase cloud cover and reduce peak insolation. This convective regime typically caps afternoon temperatures in the mid-to-upper 80s°F despite a climatological average high near 89°F. Forecasters highlight 50–80% rain probabilities and northeast winds of 10–15 mph, favoring the market’s leading 88–91°F bins while limiting upside to 92°F or higher. Updated model runs and the National Hurricane Center’s tropical weather discussion remain the key near-term catalysts for any shifts in implied odds.
