A cold front advancing into São Paulo on September 5 is driving the market's emphasis on 15–16°C minima, as polar maritime air behind the system lowers overnight temperatures amid widespread rain and cloud cover. Official forecasts from sources such as the Met Office and regional models indicate the front will arrive overnight or early Saturday, producing daytime highs near 21–27°C before radiative cooling under saturated conditions pushes lows into the mid-teens; some European model runs show potential for 14°C or lower if the air mass arrives stronger or winds remain light. Trader consensus on 15–16°C reflects this balance between typical September climatology (around 12°C average minimum) and the moderating influence of precipitation, while elevated odds on 12°C or below capture tail risk from faster intensification. Updated model guidance and official INMET briefings on Saturday morning will refine the exact overnight minimum.
