Recent National Weather Service and model guidance points to a mid-80s high in Atlanta on September 12, driven by lingering moisture and cloud cover from overnight storms that reduce solar heating and cap afternoon temperatures. Official forecasts consistently project highs in the mid-80s with a 50-70% chance of showers and thunderstorms, consistent with climatological September averages near 84.5°F at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. Trader consensus reflected in the leading 84-85°F bin aligns with this consensus, while slightly warmer 86-87°F outcomes remain plausible if breaks in clouds allow greater insolation. Real-time observations through the afternoon will determine the official maximum, with resolution hinging on precise peak readings amid variable convective activity.
