Recent National Weather Service and WeatherBug guidance indicates showers and thunderstorms are likely across Houston on September 9, with a 70% rain chance, east winds near 5 mph, and highs in the lower 90s under increasing afternoon cloud cover. This pattern follows hotter, mostly sunny conditions on September 8 and aligns with the long-term September 9 average high of 90.5 °F. Elevated humidity and storm timing are expected to limit peak temperatures below recent daily maxima near 94–97 °F, supporting the market’s leading 90–91 °F bin while leaving room for modest upside if convection develops later than modeled. Updated NHC and local forecast discussions remain the key near-term catalysts.
