Current forecasts from National Weather Service and other models point to a September 9 high near 79–80°F for Chicago, driven by southwesterly flow, increasing cloud cover, and scattered showers that limit daytime heating. This aligns with the climatological average high of 78.6°F and recent model consensus showing modest instability rather than strong warm advection. Trader positioning reflects these conditions, with 80–81°F holding the highest implied probability at 55 percent as observations through midday support that range, while lower odds on 82°F+ account for potential model spread or clearing that could allow brief extra warming. Updated National Weather Service guidance and hourly temperature trends remain the key near-term catalysts.
