Clear skies and light northeasterly winds under a stable high-pressure system are driving the close contest between 14°C and 13°C-or-below outcomes for Ankara’s official overnight minimum on September 2. With daytime highs near 30°C and dew points in the single digits, strong radiational cooling is expected after sunset, consistent with early-September climatology for the city’s 870 m elevation and continental regime. Ensemble forecasts cluster around 16–18°C lows, yet minor differences in boundary-layer mixing or exact measurement timing create the near-even split at 54.5 % versus 45.5 %. No incoming fronts or moisture are indicated through the night, keeping the primary uncertainty in microscale cooling efficiency rather than larger-scale pattern shifts.
