Recent National Weather Service and private model guidance points to a Friday high near 91–92 °F in Houston, with partly sunny morning conditions giving way to showers and thunderstorms by afternoon. These storms, driven by daytime heating, a moist southerly flow, and lingering moisture from Tropical Depression Edouard’s remnants, introduce the main uncertainty: earlier or heavier cloud cover and rain could suppress temperatures into the upper 80s, while delayed or lighter activity could allow readings to reach the low 90s. Trader-implied probabilities cluster tightly around 88–93 °F because small shifts in storm timing or coverage—key resolution factors—remain difficult to resolve two days out. Historical September 4 averages near 91 °F provide context but offer little guidance given the active pattern. Updated NHC and local forecast discussions expected later today could refine these odds.
