**Official National Weather Service forecasts for Miami on September 2, 2026, call for a high near 89°F under mostly sunny skies with a 50-70% chance of showers and thunderstorms developing after midday.** Afternoon convection, driven by typical late-summer instability, sea-breeze convergence, and high boundary-layer moisture, frequently caps daytime maxima in South Florida by enhancing cloud cover and evaporative cooling. This aligns with the market’s heavy weighting toward 90-91°F (59%) and 88-89°F (21%), as models and climatology place the most probable outcome in the upper 80s to low 90s. September 2 averages roughly 90°F historically, but the current pattern—moderate easterly flow, heat indices near 105-108°F from humidity rather than extreme air temperatures, and no anomalous ridge—supports values clustered around 89-90°F. Lower-probability tails (92°F+) would require suppressed convection or stronger subsidence, while sub-88°F readings remain unlikely absent widespread early-day rain. Traders appear to be pricing the NWS consensus and ensemble guidance that shows limited day-to-day variability, with the resolution hinging on the official daily maximum recorded at Miami International Airport.
