This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 2 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.**Official Hong Kong Observatory forecasts for September 2, 2026, indicate a daily maximum temperature range of 26–31°C under generally cloudy skies with a few showers, brief afternoon sunshine, and north to northwest winds of 4–5 Beaufort (gusts to 6 on high ground).** This range aligns closely with historical early-September normals near 30–31°C but reflects moderation from nearby tropical cyclone activity and associated moisture. Key differentiating factors include variable cloud cover and scattered showers, which can suppress peak readings by limiting solar heating, versus periods of clearing that allow temperatures to approach the upper end of the forecast. Model outputs show slight divergence on the extent of afternoon sunshine versus lingering low-level moisture and wind, creating tight implied probabilities among 29°C, 30°C, and 31°C outcomes. Lower probabilities for 32°C+ or 28°C and below stem from the consensus upper bound near 31°C and limited intensification potential under the current steering pattern. Traders are weighting the official forecast range and short-term model consensus heavily, with the modest precipitation risk introducing the primary uncertainty between adjacent integers. Updated HKO briefings and refined model runs ahead of the 24-hour window will likely narrow the distribution further.
