Recent National Weather Service forecasts for Houston on September 4 project a high near 92°F under mostly sunny skies with a 40-50% chance of afternoon thunderstorms, though lingering moisture from Tropical Depression Edouard has kept recent days cloudier and slightly cooler than seasonal norms around 89-91°F. Key variables include the timing and coverage of sea-breeze-driven convection, which can cap afternoon temperatures, along with model spread in boundary-layer moisture and wind patterns. This uncertainty supports the market's broad distribution, with substantial implied probability on 86-91°F outcomes rather than a narrow peak near the forecast maximum. Updated model runs and short-term guidance ahead of the date remain the primary catalysts for any shifts in trader consensus.
