Current National Weather Service forecasts for San Francisco on August 31 project a daily low in the mid- to upper-50s Fahrenheit, driven by a persistent marine layer and onshore flow that moderates coastal temperatures. This aligns with the leading market-implied outcome of 58-59°F and historical August averages near 56°F, as the shallow, compressed marine layer limits overnight radiative cooling while preventing significant warming or cooling extremes. Recent model consensus shows no major trough or offshore flow to disrupt this pattern through the period, keeping probabilities clustered in the 50s-60s range amid typical late-summer climatology.
