Recent advance estimates from Statistics Canada showing 0.2% month-over-month GDP growth for June 2026, following a 0.3% May reading, anchor trader positioning in this closely contested market. Offsetting sector dynamics—gains in wholesale trade, finance, and retail balanced against declines in utilities and agriculture—along with Q2 resilience tied to energy output and household spending, sustain uncertainty over final revisions ahead of the August 28 official release. Broader headwinds from subdued business investment, trade policy shifts, and a softer 2026 growth trajectory keep implied probabilities split near 48% for the 0.6-0.7% and 0.0-0.1% buckets.
