Recent National Weather Service guidance and ensemble model runs indicate a cooling trend for Los Angeles on September 11 following extreme heat earlier in the week, with daytime highs projected near 83–89 °F under building onshore flow and a strengthening marine layer. Morning low clouds and fog, common in early September, are expected to limit initial warming before gradual clearing allows afternoon temperatures to peak, creating the narrow spread between the market’s leading 82–83 °F and 84–85 °F bins. Historical September averages near 76–77 °F and the recent 99 °F reading on September 9 underscore how sensitive the daily maximum remains to subtle shifts in wind direction and cloud cover. Traders are closely watching the next NWS update and high-resolution model runs for any revisions to the marine influence before resolution.
