**Official observations from Chicago O'Hare Airport confirm a daily minimum of 71°F on September 9, 2026, aligning with the market's dominant 70-71°F outcome at 99% implied probability.** National Weather Service data recorded the low at 7:06 AM local time under conditions that included light rain and fog, following a maximum of 80°F later that afternoon—well above the 1991-2020 normal low of 60°F for the date. This result sits near the upper end of typical early-September ranges and far above historical daily records near 47°F. The strong trader consensus reflects verified station data rather than forecasts, with resolution hinging on the official NWS climatological summary. Scenarios that could challenge the outcome include any post hoc revision to the preliminary reading or use of an alternate station, though such adjustments remain unlikely given the clear observational record.
