Persistent high pressure and a strong upper-level ridge over the southern Plains have maintained hot, dry conditions across North Texas, with NWS guidance and model consensus forecasting overnight lows for August 30 in the upper 70s to low 80s under mostly clear skies and light southerly winds. These factors limit radiative cooling while residual daytime heat and modest dew points keep minimum temperatures elevated above the long-term average of about 75°F. Slight differences among forecast runs—primarily in cloud cover timing and boundary-layer mixing—create the narrow spread among the top market bins (80–85°F), where traders see the greatest probability. Updated model guidance and the next NWS forecast discussion remain the key near-term catalysts.
