Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Slovenia on March 22, 2026. This market will resolve to the next individual who is officially elected by the National Assembly (Državni zbor) and sworn in as Prime Minister of Slovenia following the next parliamentary election. To count for resolution, the individual must be formally sworn in. Any interim or caretaker Prime Minister will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such Prime Minister is sworn in by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Government of Slovenia; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Following the March 22 parliamentary elections, where Prime Minister Robert Golob's Freedom Movement secured 29 seats in the 90-seat National Assembly ahead of Janez Janša's Slovenian Democratic Party with 28, coalition negotiations have intensified amid a fragmented result. The pivotal April 10 inaugural session saw center-right parties—led by SDS, New Slovenia (NSi), and Resni.ca—elect Resni.ca leader Zoran Stevanović as speaker with 48 votes, signaling bloc cohesion and diminishing Golob's prospects for a left-center majority. Traders price Janša at 73% implied probability to become next prime minister via this emerging coalition, with NSi leader Jernej Vrtovec (12%) as a potential compromise candidate; President Nataša Pirc Musar consultations could trigger an imminent floor vote.
