In the Saint-François riding, trader consensus reflects a closely contested four-way race ahead of the October 5, 2026, Quebec general election, with Geneviève Hébert of the Coalition Avenir Québec, Mia Fréchette of Québec solidaire, Sylvie Tanguay of the Parti québécois, and Jacqueline Belleau of the Parti libéral du Québec all holding substantial implied probabilities. Provincial polling trends show the PQ gaining ground at the expense of the CAQ and Liberals, yet local projections indicate a fragmented vote that favors no single candidate decisively. Hébert benefits from incumbency and name recognition as she seeks a third term, while Fréchette and Tanguay draw support from shifting voter priorities on social services and sovereignty issues. The absence of major local scandals or endorsements, combined with the short campaign timeline since the writs dropped in late August, sustains uncertainty and prevents any contender from pulling ahead in skin-in-the-game assessments. Late-campaign events such as debates or turnout shifts in Estrie could still alter the balance.
