Sweden Democrats secured a projected third-place finish in the September 13, 2026, parliamentary election after receiving approximately 17.5 percent of the vote, behind the Social Democrats at 28.1 percent and the Moderate Party at 19.9 percent. This outcome stems from SD's first decline in support since entering the Riksdag in 2010, with the party losing ground relative to 2022 results while the Moderates strengthened their position within the right-leaning bloc. Preliminary counts across nearly all districts have held consistent on this ordering, though final tallies incorporating remaining postal and diaspora ballots could still adjust seat allocations slightly. Late shifts in turnout or bloc negotiations represent the primary variables that could alter the confirmed ranking before official certification.
