Latest National Weather Service and model guidance indicate Atlanta highs in the mid-90s on September 4, with peaks near 95–96°F under persistent high pressure, light southeast winds, and minimal cloud cover that limits afternoon mixing. These conditions sustain above-normal temperatures roughly 8–10°F above the early-September average of 86°F. The near-even market split between 94–95°F and 96–97°F reflects modest uncertainty in exact maximums driven by small differences in model timing of any thin cirrus or boundary-layer moisture, which could shave or add a degree. Updated NWS briefings and afternoon observations will refine the peak before resolution.
