**An upper-level trough and associated disturbances are steering cooler, moister air into western Washington, with forecasts from the National Weather Service and other models converging on a Saturday high in the mid-to-upper 60s.** Persistent cloud cover, morning rain or showers, and a chance of afternoon thunderstorms limit solar heating and promote evaporative cooling, keeping readings below the late-August climatological average of ~75°F. Light winds and the moderating influence of Puget Sound further cap peaks, producing the tight clustering of market-implied probabilities around 66–69°F. Later-day partial clearing could allow brief warming into the low 70s in some model runs, which explains the secondary weight on 70–71°F, while the overall trough signature makes outcomes above 72°F or below 64°F less likely. Updated NWS guidance and ensemble consensus released in the past 24–48 hours continue to reinforce this narrow temperature band ahead of the August 29 observation window.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=ksea
This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button.
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F.
This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
