Oklahoma’s 1st congressional district remains a solidly Republican seat following the July 2026 primary, where Mark Tedford secured the nomination in a crowded field and advanced without a runoff. The open seat, previously held by Republican Kevin Hern, features Democrat John Croisant as the general-election opponent. Historical voting patterns, partisan registration advantages, and Trump’s endorsement of Tedford have anchored trader consensus on a Republican victory at 90.5 percent. Cook Political Report and other forecasters rate the race Solid or Safe Republican, reflecting limited crossover appeal for Democrats in this Tulsa-area district. A late scandal involving the nominee or an unforeseen national Democratic surge could narrow the margin, though both remain low-probability events before November.
