Official National Weather Service forecasts project a high near 96°F for Houston on September 23 under sunny skies, light northeast winds of 5-10 mph, and minimal rain chances, consistent with recent mid-to-upper 90s readings amid persistent high pressure. These conditions support the market's heavy weighting toward 94-97°F outcomes, reflecting model consensus on limited cooling or intensification factors. High humidity will elevate heat indices above 100°F, though actual maximum temperatures hinge on afternoon mixing and any minor cloud development. Updated NWS guidance ahead of the date will refine resolution probabilities for this late-September pattern.
