Recent June data showed China's annual CPI easing to 1.0% year-over-year from 1.2% in May, missing forecasts amid persistent weak domestic demand and falling food prices, particularly for pork and fresh produce. This trend, alongside softer non-food components from lower transport costs and stable core readings around 1.0%, positions the 0.9%-1.0% outcome as the trader consensus leader. Key differentiators among nearby bins include the pace of any demand recovery, potential policy stimulus effects, and volatility in energy or commodity prices. July figures, due shortly, will hinge on whether these disinflationary pressures hold or moderate slightly, with broader economic indicators like producer prices and retail sales providing supporting signals for probability shifts.
