Mexico's annual inflation has eased markedly in 2026, reaching 3.12% in July and 3.37% in June after readings near 4% earlier in the year, pulling market-implied odds toward the 3.50–3.99% band. Banxico has held its policy rate at 6.50% since the latest cut, citing persistent core inflation near 4%, services price stickiness, and upside risks from trade policy uncertainty, geopolitical tensions, and potential weather shocks. With headline inflation already inside the 2–4% target range and forecasts pointing to further gradual convergence toward 3% only by late 2027, traders price a modest rebound or stabilization through year-end that keeps the full-year average above the lower ranges while capping the probability of outcomes above 4.5%.
