Official NWS forecasts for Austin on September 4 project a mostly sunny day with a high near 97°F and only a 20% chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms, consistent with recent model runs showing light southerly flow and modest moisture. This setup favors upper-90s readings at official stations, though scattered convection could briefly limit peak heating if it initiates earlier than expected. Trader emphasis on the 92–95°F range reflects the forecast's central tendency alongside historical September variability and the narrow margin between clear-sky maxima near 99°F versus any earlier cloud cover. Updated NWS discussions and afternoon observations will refine the exact threshold before resolution.
