Bo French holds a 63% implied probability in trader consensus for the November 2026 Texas Railroad Commissioner election, ahead of Democratic nominee Jon Rosenthal at 36.5%, reflecting Texas's consistent Republican advantage in statewide contests and French's May primary runoff victory over incumbent Jim Wright. French, a former Tarrant County GOP chair, secured the nomination with strong base support despite opposition from some party leaders, while Rosenthal, a state representative and former oil-field engineer, won his primary unopposed and emphasizes technical expertise on energy regulation. Recent polling shows a narrow French lead amid high undecided shares among independents, and a September social media controversy drew bipartisan criticism that could influence turnout or crossover votes. The Libertarian candidate adds a minor factor in the general election, but the race remains shaped by partisan patterns and French's fundraising edge.
