Washington’s 3rd Congressional District holds a nonpartisan top-two primary on August 4, 2026, to select the two candidates advancing to the November general election for the U.S. House seat. Incumbent Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez faces Republican state Senate Minority Leader John Braun, who secured the GOP nomination after the May 8 filing deadline and received a Trump endorsement plus NRCC backing. Other declared candidates include Democrat Brent Hennrich and several lower-profile entrants from both parties plus independents. The district’s modest Republican lean, Perez’s prior narrow victories, and limited recent candidate consolidation or major endorsements continue to frame positioning ahead of the August contest.
